Washburn F52SWCE Electric-Acoustic
Washburn F52SWC

Washburn F52SWC Acoustic-Electric GuitarWhile I love the sound of my acoustic and electric guitars, they are obviously two completely different instruments that provide entirely different types of tone and are each suited to different types of music.

Also, since my Yamah was more of an entry level acoustic, I really wanted to try out a much higher end acoustic, but also be able to plug it into and amp for more volume with a lighter strum.

So, I began checking out the electric-acoustic guitars at Guitar Guys in Heath and did some online research as well. I must have tried every electric-acoustic guitar at the shop before ultimately choosing the Washburn F52SWCE.

Washburn F52SWC
A beautiful solid-top guitar, the Washburn was a great value at around $870 including the custom Washburn guitar case that is included. The solid Spruce top and solid Mahogany back and sides combined with BBand® electronics give this guitar an amazingly articulate yet full tone weather plugged in on stage or played acoustically. A pro level guitar in every way.

The included Washburn hard shell case is extremely well made with dark brown "leather" exterior and gold hardware. Also has a nice gold Washburn logo imprinted on the top/front. Washburn case

After a few months of playing it, I have really grown to love it and it's usually my default guitar of choice when I want to practice or head down to the Guitar Guys for my lesson.

Fender Acoustasonic Junior Electric-Acoustic Amp

Fender Acoustasonic Junior DSP

Initially I just used my Line 6 electric amp to play the new Washburn on, but after hearing it on some of the true "electric-acoustic" amps down at the Guitar Guys, I learned quickly how much better an acoustic could sound when amplified by an amp designed specifically for acoustics. With the focus being more on the speakers and tonal quality versus a lot of effects and driving metal power, you get a cleaner, deeper acoustic tone.

So, after trying a few of them out, I ultimately chose the Fender Acoustasonic Junior DSP. Actually a small bit larger than my Line 6, the Acoustasonic Junior's two 40-watt power sections drive a pair of 8 inch low-frequency drivers and a tweeter. Separate Instrument and phantom-powered XLR Mic channels each contain individual EQ and Phase switches for feedback reduction, and FX. Fender's String Dynamics(TM) control tames harsh treble notes on the instrument channel, and Feedback Notch control removes most feedback problems. Fender tilt-back legs aim the sound where it's needed.
